UClear pairing with Sena via universal intercom mode

One of the most common questions i get asked is whether my UClear is compatible with other brands of intercoms. Personally, I have successfully managed to pair my UClear Amp Go and Uclear Amp Pro with the Sena 10S, Sena 20S and Sena 30K so far! I haven’t ridden with anyone using the Cardo Packtalk Bold yet so i’m still unclear on that combination.

If you use the “universal pairing” instructions from both units, it is going to be a very frustrating experience as nothing is going to work. Only follow the UClear instructions and DISREGARD Sena instructions. Continue reading on to find out how to get a successful pairing.

Here’s a step by step guide on how to get your UClear paired with a Sena unit

1. Turn off your UClear unit.

2. Press and hold the power button for around 10 seconds. Do NOT let go of the power button even if u see the unit powering on UNTIL you see a purple LED flashing.

3. Turn on your Sena unit and press the phone button unit for 3 seconds to activate “phone pairing” mode where you will see a red and blue LED flashing.

4. Wait for both units to pair. The UClear unit’s LED will turn green when the pairing is successful.

The UClear as the master unit will be able to turn on/off the intercom by pressing up/down respectively and the Sena unit will just be a passive unit.

What happens when you turn off both units?

You need not go through the pairing process again. Just hold up on the UClear unit for 2 seconds and activate “phone pairing” mode on the Sena and both units will be connected for intercom.

I hope this helps if you are having difficulties trying to get your UClear to pair with a Sena unit. Some of the functions like turn on/off intercom can feel a little slow unlike when you are using same brand pairing from UClear where it feels much more seamless and responsive. Clarity is also compromised in my opinion but if u have no choice but to pair with a Sena user, this is pretty much how it is.
